WashingDC Terms and Conditions

By placing your items in a WashingDC locker or placing a concierge or home delivery order with WashingDC, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

Minimum Order Size

Wash & Fold order minimum is 12 pounds. No minimum order size for dry cleaning. $20 Minimum for home delivery.

Non-payment

Orders that have not been paid for within 30 days of the pickup date will be considered abandoned and all property will be donated to charity.

Unclaimed items

All property once returned to a locker must be removed from the locker within 48 hours. Property not claimed after 48 hours will be removed from the locker and the lock code will be changed. Customers have up to 30 days to claim their property. Any property not claimed within 30 days of the original pick up date will be donated to charity.

Damaged Property

WashingDC follows the standards and policies set forth by the Fabricare Industry and the International Fabricare Institute. We exercise the utmost care in cleaning and processing garments entrusted to us and use such processes which, in our experience, are best suited to the nature and conditions of each individual garment. Nevertheless, we cannot assume responsibility for inherent weaknesses or defects in materials which may result in tears or development of small holes in fabric that are not readily apparent prior to processing. We can not guarantee against color loss, color bleeding, and shrinkage; or against damage to weak and tender fabrics; or against damage to ancillary items such as belts, buttons, beads, ties or zipper pulls. WashingDC’s liability with respect to any damaged items shall not exceed ten (10) times our charge for cleaning that garment regardless of brand or condition.

Any damaged items must be reported via email to support@washingdc.net and returned to WashingDC for inspection within 5 business days.

Lost Items

Any lost items must be reported via email within 5 business days. WashingDC makes its best reasonable effort to track every item that we process and will review all lost items claims on a case by case basis. Any items determined to have been lost by WashingDC will be reimbursed in accordance with the International Fabricare Fair Claims Guide and shall not exceed ten (10) times our charge for cleaning that garment regardless of brand or condition. Items will be considered lost 30 days after the initial claim is filed.

When leaving items in lockers, please ensure that your locker has been correctly closed and locked. WashingDC is not responsible for any loss or damage resulting from a failure to properly lock the locker.

When using our home delivery or concierge service, WashingDC is not responsible for your items before they are picked up or dropped back off. It is your responsibility to ensure the safety of your items during that time.

For our package delivery service, WashingDC’s maximum liability will be $100.

Loose Items

Although, we try as hard as possible track such items, we are not responsible for loose items such as jewelry, watches, cash, detachable buttons, cufflinks, belts, broaches, stings, laces, hoods or loose items on garments, hangers, etc.. We request that customers remove these items and empty pockets prior to leaving items with us as we cannot be held responsible for damage to your garments from items left in pockets (Lipstick, Gum, Pens, etc.).

Personal Property

Any personal property placed in a WashingDC locker that appears to have value will be removed by WashingDC and stored for 30 days. If items are unclaimed after 30 days, all property will be donated to charity.

Barcodes

WashingDC will adhere a permanent barcode to your dry cleaning garments in an inconspicuous location. These barcodes are very important in helping us track your garments so that items are not lost and to ensure you are billed consistently every time. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate requests not to adhere barcodes.

Turnaround Time

Service days and turnaround times vary by location. WashingDC will make its best reasonable effort to adhere to our service schedule, however, we do not guarantee turnaround times and assume no responsibility for any damages that may occur due to a delay in service.

 

WashingDC Statement of Privacy

WashingDC is committed to protecting your privacy. This Statement of Privacy applies to WashingDC Web site and governs data collection and usage at all WashingDC sites and services; it does not apply to other online or offline sites, products or services. Please read the WashingDC Statement of Privacy. WashingDC is a general audience web site, intended for users of all ages. Personal information of all users is collected, used and disclosed as described in this Statement of Privacy.

 

Collection of your Personal Information

As an E-commerce Web site, WashingDC collects personal information, such as your e-mail address, name, home or work address or telephone number. Information collected by WashingDC is used solely for the purpose of billing your online purchases. WashingDC does not collect any information about your computer hardware and software.

WashingDC encourages you to review the privacy statements of Web sites you choose to link to from WashingDC so that you can understand how those Web sites collect, use and share your information. We are not responsible for the privacy statements or other content on Web sites outside of the WashingDC Web site.

Use of your Personal Information

WashingDC and its operational service partners collect and use your personal information to process product orders and deliver the products requested. It is possible that WashingDC may also use personal information to inform you of other products or services available from WashingDC. WashingDC may also contact you via surveys to conduct research about your opinion of current services or of potential new services that may be offered.

WashingDC does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties.

WashingDC does not use or disclose sensitive personal information, such as race, religion, or political affiliations, without your explicit consent.

WashingDC may access and/or disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on WashingDC or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of WashingDC, including its Web site; or (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of WashingDC or the public.

Security of your Personal Information

WashingDC is committed to protecting the security of your personal information. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. For example, we store the personal information you provide on computer systems with limited access that are located in controlled facilities. When we transmit highly confidential information (such as a credit card number) over the Internet, we use a secure payment gateway so your information is protected.

Changes to this Statement

WashingDC will occasionally update this Statement of Privacy to reflect company and customer feedback. If there are material changes to this Statement or in how WashingDC will use your personal information, WashingDC will prominently post such changes prior to implementing the change. WashingDC encourages you to periodically review this Statement to be informed of how WashingDC is protecting your information.

 

WashingDC Refund Policy

WashingDC only provides refunds in the case where we have caused a customer’s items to be damaged or lost.  For the extent and conditions regarding any refund, please see the Terms and Conditions above.
